Jacinda (Dita999) > (29th February 2008) This is one breed of the native banksia - There are a few that only differ slighty the better known but  less common have eyes (open seeds) that look like eyes on the flower (the brown furry bit) May Gibb actually wrote a series of stories about them since they actually do look like little men when they have the seeds on them ... But these here don't get the seeds they are named after Joseph Banks the botanist in Captain Cooks ship upon discovering Australia Joseph Banks discovered these among several hundred other plants but these are his namesake.
Jacinda (Dita999) > I was taking photos in the front garden and "Maggie" is not one to miss out on whats going on (She likes to know everything ~ seriously) so she kept poking her nose through the fence til she was included in the days photos ~ my 2nd baby I love her I never understood why people were so goo gah about dogs and got so attached to them - til now with Maggie I completely understand it
